About Us
We are excited to have an opportunity to share with others the beautiful SC upstate that beacons to be explored. Both of us grew up in South Carolina and after several years vacationing in the upstate, knew it was where we wanted to end up. Our passion is spending time in the outdoors whether on foot, by car or boat. We love both the adventure that nature has to offer and the simple beauty of sometimes just relaxing in it. One visit and we promise, you will understand!
Why Chattooga Trails Bed and Barn?
When not boating on Lake Jocassee or Keowee, we always migrated west into the further reaches of Oconee County towards the hiking trails, waterfalls and other outdoor adventures it offers. Mountain Rest, where our unique bnb is located is in the heart of all of that. Using our place as a central location, one can spend a week venturing out in a different direction, doing something different each day, and yet only get a glimpse of all that there is here. Having a property that is also a small horse farm, allows those on horseback to do the same. There are a multitude of horseback trails in the area leading to the Chattooga River and mountainsides, including the well known Whetstone Trail Systems. No property in the area offers the amenities and privacy that Chattooga Trails Bed and Barn does for those on horseback. Rent an RV site if you travel with a live-in horse quarter trailer. Or, rent a room if you prefer more luxurious accommodations and breakfast prepared for you. The barn, pasture and paddocks are available to use for your hoofed companions.
